A hitman who targeted the Scottish Conservative leader, Russell Findlay, in an acid attack is due to be released from prison. Findlay overpowered William Burns with the help of his neighbours, and he was arrested at the scene. Last October, Burns was refused parole with the Scottish Tory leader being informed of the decision over email. Findlay has now confirmed that the hitman is due to be released on Wednesday.
