A honey-hued bastide in south west France gently revived for modern life

House & Garden
Tucked away in a quiet corner of south west France, among the lavender and cypress trees, sits a honey-toned bastide that looks like something from the pages of the H.E.
Such is the setting of Dalrymple Studio's latest project – a three year undertaking which saw the transformation and renovation of the farmhouse.
‘The house was originally converted from a bastide to a house about 15 to 20 years ago,’ says Amy Dalrymple, creative director at the studio.
And so the owners called upon Dalrymple Studio to reinvent the house, gently bringing it up to date with how they now lived.
In the sitting room, a bespoke sofa, designed by Dalrymple Studio and made by Bray, takes centrestage.
