Photography by Amitava Saha for Rolling Stone IndiaJasmine has built her entire career around following the feeling. “I think in the last 18 years, I’ve lost myself and found myself again and again,” Jasmine tells Rolling Stone India. “Sometimes I would make a love song, sometimes a cool hip-hop song, sometimes something totally Punjabi traditional. More importantly, it established her as one of the most distinctive female voices in Punjabi music at a time when it was overwhelmingly male-dominated. When I ask what kind of music she’s got in the works, she lights up like a child.
