West Sussex County Council has completed the latest part of its active travel scheme, improving a key connection between Bognor Regis and the South Downs National Park with a focus on making travel safer for students heading to Felpham Community College and Downview Primary School. The project includes upgrades to the twitten between Drygrounds Lane and Wroxham Way and the crossing on the B2259 Felpham Way. "It also fills a gap in the existing active travel corridor between the potential housing development to the northeast of both schools and Bognor town centre and seafront." The upgraded crossing now offers a safer route onto the shared path from the B2259 cycle track and footpath, as well as from the footpath connecting Felpham Way and Felpham Road. The £880,000 scheme was funded by a Department for Transport grant through the Active Travel England fund.
