The action was called off after the workers voted to accept a new pay deal from the Brighton Bus Company. The company made a revised offer following a vote for industrial action from members of the Unite union. The agreement includes a 5.2 per cent overall pay rise, while employees at the Copthorne depot will receive a seven per cent increase, backdated and with sick pay added at 67 per cent. Unite general secretary, Sharon Graham, said: "I’m delighted our members have received a pay rise that is nothing more than they deserve. The Brighton Bus Company and Crawley Metrobus are owned by the Newcastle-based Go Ahead group.
