The 62-year-old worker who was seriously injured after falling last Tuesday while working on a construction site in Montalto Uffugo did not make it.
The man died at the civil hospital in Cosenza, where he had been hospitalized in critical condition immediately after the accident.
Fillea Cgil Calabria intervened upon hearing the news of his death and expressed its condolences to his family and raised the alarm on safety in the workplace.
The general secretary Simone Celebre defined the incident as “yet another death by workericide”, speaking of an “infinite massacre” which requires immediate interventions on the prevention, control and accountability fronts.
The union also asked for greater support for the families of victims of accidents at work, reiterating the need for concrete responses from the institutions.
