New England House in New England Street, Brighton, was temporarily closed as an emergency measure in November 2024 following the discovery of over 1,000 "intolerable" fire safety inadequacies.
Rea Stavropoulos was a tenant at New England House for over 12 years and has shared her sadness at the closure.
“I looked at places and they were not just more expensive but unsuitable because what New England House had was great,” she said.
It reads: “The doors close on our beautiful New England House studio building with its amazing spaces that have nurtured thousands of creative individuals and their enterprises over many decades.
“We hope New England House will be able to once again play an important part in our creative sector but appreciate for many this is the end of an era.
