Calls for Green Party in Wales leader to distance from Polanski controversial post
['Elizabeth Birt']
South Wales Argus | News
The post, shared by Green Party leader Zack Polanski on Instagram, showed a t-shirt seemingly calling for Reform UK leader Nigel Farage to be beheaded.
Dan Thomas, leader of Reform UK Wales and a member of the Senedd for Casnewydd Islwyn, has written to Anthony Slaughter, leader of Wales Green Party, urging him to publicly condemn or distance himself from Mr Polanski's actions.
Mr Thomas said: "There is no place in our politics for rhetoric that glorifies, encourages, or jokes about violence against political opponents.
"Regardless of anyone's views on Nigel Farage, sharing imagery seemingly calling for his execution is completely unacceptable."
Public figures, Mr Thomas argued, should set an example and help raise the standards of political discourse.
