Malpas Park Primary School received glowing feedback from Estyn inspectors following a recent visit, with staff and pupils described as feeling valued and supported within a "caring and purposeful learning culture."
(Image: Submitted)Younger children use phonics to spell simple words, while older pupils are able to write accurately for a variety of purposes.
Younger children confidently use devices, while older pupils apply computational thinking and make informed choices about which tools to use for different tasks.
While most pupils read fluently, older pupils struggle with retrieving information, inferring meaning, and summarising texts.
Estyn has recommended improving the teaching of reading to ensure that pupils’ skills are built progressively.
