Gwent Police say the device was fitted to an ATM to steal bank card details and warned the public to be vigilant when using machines. Skimming devices capture card information, which can then be used to clone cards and withdraw money fraudulently. Gwent Police said:"Card skimming is when a fraudster places a false device on the machine to capture the details when inserted in the card reader." Police have advised people to take the following protective steps:✅Do a quick check before using the machine – does the machine look tampered with? ✅Cover your hand while entering your PIN✅Keep an eye on your bank statements
