Ashley Eadie entered Rhymney Service Station in Rhymney at around 7.30am on April 19.
The defendant then pulled out a pair of scissors and demanded money from the till.
Ashley Eadie demanded money whilst armed with a pair of scissors at Rhymney Service Station.
He said he gave his friend £15 of the money he stole and used the rest to pay off a debt.
Mr Seal said Eadie was seeking help for his drug and alcohol issues whilst in prison, and that he was genuinely remorseful for his actions.
