Wayne Milsom, 51, from Keynsham, was unanimously convicted in Bristol Crown Court on Tuesday, July 27, of the killing of 72-year-old Stephen Ridgeway.
Mr Ridgeway described being kicked in the back and threatened with his own kitchen knife, causing a scratch to his neck.
Mr Stephen Ridgeway.
Milsom admitted being at the property but denied manslaughter, claiming Mr Ridgeway had started the altercation, but the jury rejected his account.
He had been acquitted of murder in a previous trial, but the jury could not reach a verdict on manslaughter, leading to the re-trial this month.
