The ordeal began when Kimberly Porter dropped her Mercedes C300 off for repairs and was given a dealership loaner.
Instead of waiting until morning, Porter hopped into the loaner vehicle and tracked her Mercedes to a local sports bar named TJ Mulligans.
Officers arrived and found Derrick Nguyen, a service technician at the Mercedes dealership, inside the bar.
According to court records, Nguyen appeared intoxicated when he was taken into custody and charged with theft.
While the civil matter is settled, Nguyen is still scheduled to return to court to face his ongoing criminal theft charges.
