Standard Chartered Delivers Record First-half Performance And Upgrades 2026 Guidance

Standard Chartered today announced its financial results for the first half and second quarter ended 30 June 2026, delivering a record first-half performance driven by strong momentum across its Wealth Solutions and Global Banking businesses.
The Group reported record operating income of USD11.6 billion and record profit before tax of USD4.8 billion for the first half of the year.
Earnings per share increased 17 per cent, while Return on Tangible Equity (RoTE) rose to 17.6 per cent.
Reflecting continued confidence in the strength of the business, the Group has upgraded its 2026 income guidance and announced a new USD1 billion share buyback programme.
