Srinagar: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir, formerly Crime Branch Kashmir, has secured the conviction of a man for fraudulently securing a job in the police by using a fake qualification certificate. In case of default in payment of fine, he will have to undergo 15 days of simple imprisonment. The court also sentenced him to 2 years simple imprisonment under Section 471 RPC for using a forged document as genuine. The EOW Kashmir has cautioned citizens against using forged or fabricated documents for employment or any official purpose. The conviction comes as part of the EOW’s ongoing crackdown on recruitment frauds and document forgery cases in the Valley, reads the statement.
