Sialkot recorded 54 millimetres of rain between 2am and 5am, making it one of the wettest areas during the latest spell. Authorities in Sialkot reported water accumulation in several low-lying areas following the heavy rainfall. The department has warned that heavy monsoon showers could trigger flash floods in hilly regions, overflowing streams and urban flooding in low-lying areas. The fresh monsoon spell comes after Punjab experienced extensive flooding during the previous week. According to official figures, the previous monsoon spell claimed 110 lives, injured 360 people, damaged 796 houses and resulted in the loss of 376 livestock across the country.
