Cathedral Funeral Services, based on St Owen Street, was placed in liquidation following the retirement of its owner, Patrick Walesby.
A notice on the Cherished Funeral Services website confirmed his retirement.
The statement said: "Proprietor Patrick Walesby has retired.
"Kate of Cherished Funerals is your new point of contact should you require a funeral director or wish to discuss anything."
Voluntary liquidation is a process that allows a limited company to close in an orderly way.
