The scheme will see 12 guest rooms created on the first floor of the Aubrey Street buildings, located in Hereford city centre, to support the existing hospitality businesses. The new rooms will be used to accommodate guests visiting Hereford. The applicants said in planning documents: "The conversion will create guest accommodation directly supporting The Bookshop and The Burger Shop and encouraging visitors to stay in the city centre. "It also aligns with national planning policy, which recognises tourism development as a main town centre use." The development is supported under Herefordshire’s Core Strategy E4 policy, which promotes new hotel accommodation in Hereford and supports tourism growth.
