Instead of state/local government and other services dispatching 12,000 personnel, we could have allowed the state to harvest most timber and the revenue from that could have hired 12,000 people who in turn pay taxes along with the timber companies that pay taxes. Increased harvesting with re-planting would reduce the damage of future fires.
