The 2025 Deputy Mayor’s Cup football tournament concluded in grand style on Sunday at the Eve Leary Sports Club ground, with Bent Street etching their name in history as the new champions of seven-a-side football.
The thrilling finale was followed by a spirited awards ceremony at City Hall, hosted by the Office of the Deputy Mayor.
Bent Street’s unbeaten run culminated in a commanding 2-0 victory over Back Circle ‘B’ in the championship match.
Daniel Wilson gave the champions the perfect start with a blistering run down the right wing to open the scoring, before Solomon Austin sealed the triumph with a clinical finish from close range.
The presentation ceremony saw Deputy Mayor of Georgetown, Honourable Denise Miller, and former national coach Lennox Arthur handing out trophies and prizes to the top performers.
