The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has officially unveiled the squads for the 2025 Senior Men’s Super50 Inter-County Tournament, which is set to bowl off on October 11. The annual championship will once again feature Demerara, Berbice, Essequibo, and the GCB Select XI vying for one of the country’s most prestigious domestic titles. The release of the Demerara squad was particularly anticipated following concerns raised by Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) president Jonathan Yearwood earlier this week. Yearwood questioned the absence of trial matches for Demerara and suggested there were rumours within the fraternity of discrimination against GCC players. He linked the issue to tensions between the club and the GCB stemming from an ongoing court case over a land dispute at Bourda.
