A Hong Kong coach has appeared in court over allegations she slapped an eight-year-old boy and forced him to stand under the hot sun at a summer training camp for children. Eastern Court on Wednesday heard that Zhao Yiqun, 51, allegedly mistreated the boy during a training programme at the Jockey Club Ming Fai Camp on Cheung Chau on August 8, 2024. The South China Morning Post learned that Zhao allegedly ordered the boy to stand under the sun for 15 to 25 minutes when the temperature was 31 degrees Celsius (87.8 Fahrenheit) outside. She also allegedly slapped the child’s right cheek. The boy reported the incident to his mother upon returning home from camp.
