In Stephens County, school and county officials celebrated the grand re-opening of Eastanollee Elementary School Monday with a special ribbon-cutting. Stephens County Schools Superintendent Dr. Connie Franklin said the reopening of Eastanollee Elementary marks the return of a beloved school to the community. Plans to renovate and reopen the school were approved by the School Board in 2024, which included major renovations to the building at a cost of about $11 million. Eastanollee Elementary School closed in 2015 when the school board at the time chose to consolidate the elementary schools from four to three. The decision to reopen the school came in 2024 due to continued growth in Stephens County, to keep students in one school building longer, and reduce bus times for students.
