The recent pause in strikes should therefore be viewed not as an end in itself but as a diplomatic opening. Stability between the United States and Iran would therefore contribute not only to bilateral security but also to regional and international peace. A pause in military operations does not automatically resolve the structural issues dividing the two nations. Sustainable peace is built not only in diplomatic chambers but also through people-to-people engagement that humanises former adversaries. Ultimately, the question is not whether the United States and Iran can pause military strikes.
