(Photo: AFP)SABRINA Lyn closed her Commonwealth Games swimming campaign with a fifth-place finish in the women’s 50m breaststroke final, swimming a personal best 30.95 seconds, just 0.09 seconds off the bronze medal on Tuesday. Lyn, who also contested the 100m breaststroke final, was just beaten to the wall as South Africa’s Lara van Niekerk won in 30.43 seconds, beating Australia’s Sienna Toohey, who clocked 30.54 seconds. The mixed medley team of Collin McKenzie (backstroke), Kito Campbell (breaststroke), Jessica Calderbank (butterfly) and Lyn (freestyle) broke the national record when they qualified in 3:58.00 for third in their first-round heat. Tiffany Reynolds scored seven points to lead Jamaica, while Carissa Robinson and Christeina Bryan each scored five points and Teneisia Brown four. Shanice Beckford-Norton scored a game-high nine points for England, with Georgia Gayle scoring six and Cheridene Green five.
