A 43-year-old contract worker died following a machinery accident late Monday night at an automotive manufacturing facility in Lee County, local authorities confirmed. WTVA News in Tupelo reports that Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green identified the victim as Fan Weifeng, a native of China. According to Green, Fan suffered a fatal crushing injury while working on a piece of machinery inside the Grammer Inc. plant located in Shannon. Fan was on-site as a contract worker for Chaoda, a Texas-based valve manufacturer. The incident is currently being investigated by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
