McVey, who was Wirral West MP between 2010-2015 and now sits as MP for Tatton, co-signed the letter alongside Aphra Brandreth MP (Chester South and Eddisbury) and Sarah Pochin MP (Runcorn and Helsby).

The letter finishes with the MPs "welcoming" the opportunity to meet with Fahnbulle to discuss the issue in greater detail.

Brandreth also gave a much-praised speech to Parliament in June and received a direct response from Energy minister Michael Shanks, who was joined on the frontbench by current Wirral West MP Matthew Patrick.
