Morgan Ninnis-Jeal, 22 and of School Lane, Elton, appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, July 28.
Ninnis-Jeal pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit.
However, officers could ‘smell cannabis’ within the vehicle and a preliminary test at the roadside came back positive.
Chair Roy Barron told Ninnis-Jeal he would receive credit for his prompt guilty plea.
Ninnis-Jeal received a fine of £80, and will pay a surcharge of £32 and court costs of £85.
