Springsteen, Bono, and Ed Sheeran are among a galaxy of stars who have paid tribute to Glen Hansard, remembered as ‘one of the greats’ after his death. In a statement to broadcaster RTÉ, his agents ATC management said: ‘With broken hearts we announce the passing of Glen Hansard who passed away, in the early hours of this morning, following a road traffic accident in Dublin. Former Irish president Michael D Higgins said Glen Hansard was a ‘wonderful musician and performer’ who had a gift for storytelling. Writer Dawn O’Porter, who is married to Chris O’Dowd, also wrote on social media: ‘I was lucky to meet Glen Hansard a few times.
