Leicestershire town could be getting its own banking hub after multiple branch closuresThe town's last bank closed in September 2025View 2 Images The town centre currently only has one ATM service on its high street (Image: Google)A Leicestershire town could be getting its own banking hub following the closure of multiple branches in the area. ‌Neil O’Brien, MP for Harborough, Oadby & Wigston, said he asked LINK to review the case for a banking hub in Oadby, after hearing from residents who were concerned about the continued loss of local banking services. ‌The news follows the MP's last successful campaign, which saw a banking hub open in Market Harborough in December 2025, providing access to essential banking services, including cash withdrawals, deposits, and bill payments. In September, the final bank in Oadby closed, leaving Nationwide's cash machine as the town’s last remaining banking facility. ‌"As part of this, they will look at whether residents and local businesses have access to the cash services they need and whether a Banking Hub is required."
