Harare Employee Accused Of Helping Fake ZIMRA Official Target Employer In US$3,000 ScamA Harare man employed at Condere Shopping Centre has been brought before the courts over allegations that he helped orchestrate an extortion scheme involving a fake ZIMRA official.
Prosecutors told the court that Mandiki allegedly informed Mutema that the business was keeping smuggled goods at its warehouse along Kirkman Road in Harare.
According to court documents, Sine approached Mhlakaza after looking for assistance with bringing the trucks into Zimbabwe.
Mhlakaza allegedly presented himself as a ZIMRA official and quoted US$52,792 for the clearance of the vehicles.
However, doubts reportedly emerged on February 2 this year when Sine approached ZIMRA to confirm the payment.
