The University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University will be exploring joint opportunities for geothermal research, services, and skills development. The University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University (RGU) have signed a Memorandum of Agreement to evaluate opportunities for joint activity across a wide range of areas linked to geothermal energy. The partnership aims to exploration collaboration across key areas including modeling, drilling, finance, public engagement, supply chain development, subsurface characterization, and training. In 2025, the University of Aberdeen was awarded a £1 million grant for the Aberdeen Geothermal Feasibility Pilot (AGFP), which aims to explore the geothermal potential of Aberdeen and provide pathways for low-carbon heating solutions.
