Australian Grape & Wine (AGW) has welcomed the appointment of two new directors to the board of Wine Australia, saying the additions will bring valuable commercial and industry expertise at a pivotal time for the sector. Julie Collins announced the appointments of Darryn Hakof and Stephen Strachan to the Wine Australia board, which oversees the industry’s research and innovation, marketing and regulatory functions. “Mr Hakof and Mr Strachan bring a wealth of wine industry experience, strong commercial expertise and a genuine passion for Australian wine,” she said. Strachan said AGW was looking forward to working with the new directors and the broader Wine Australia board to support the sector’s long-term sustainability. ”We look forward to working with Mr Hakof and Mr Strachan, together with the broader Wine Australia Board, to support a sustainable and profitable future for Australia’s grape and wine sector,” she said.
