Participants underwent assessments measuring trunk stability, balance, hip strength, and mobility during routine activities. However, trunk stability showed a faster decline than overall balance, hip strength, or mobility—particularly among men. This pattern suggests that aging might impact the body’s core control more early and more intensely than many realize. Further analysis revealed a strong correlation between trunk stability and overall balance, hinting that better core control contributes significantly to staying steady. Building core strength and body control during middle age may help slow decline and preserve independence longer.
