MS-AMY Study Shines Light On Women’s Health
['Danielle Raffaele']
RTRFM
Women’s health needs have been overlooked and under researched for a long time.
Factors critical to women’s health and quality of life through their mid-years, including the impact of the menopausal transition, and how this relates to physical disability, quality of life and workplace participation in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) remain unknown.
In response to this need, one of Australia’s leaders in MS and women’s health research, Associate Professor Vilija Jokubaitis has teamed up with endocrinologists, and menopause expert, Professor Susan Davis to launch the MS-AMY study.
Pam Boland spoke with PhD candidate and member of the team Dr Jessica Redmond for Breakfast to learn about the study and how the findings will positively impact those living with MS.
The next MSWA Mega Home Lottery, which helps fund the research that supports West Aussies living with neurological conditions – is coming soon – keep an eye out at mswalottery.com.au.
