It’s the spellbinding dance show that first reeled its way into our consciousness at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994.
As she plays Lord of the Dance on a jewel-encrusted penny whistle a circle of curled-up female dancers in white come to life.
‘Girl meets boy, boy meets the Dark Lord…’In terms of the story, it’s a classic tale.
Girl meets boy, boy gets seduced by a temptress, temptress hails a Dark Lord, Dark Lord gets defeated in a dance-off by the high kicks, leather trousers, and sparkly vest of the Lord of the Dance.
At one point, the sublimely talented “Lord” played by Lucas Lawton stands on the bleachers beside Tom Doherty aka the Dark Lord, while a fight scene unfolds in front of them.
