Digital Bros, 505 Games’ parent company, has announced that developer Leenzee’s 2025 soulslike Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is getting a sequel—but said sequel won’t be developed by the original team at Leenzee.
However, the sequel will be directed by Wuchang: Fallen Feathers’ creative lead, Xia Siyuan, under a newly formed studio named Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology.
Exactly why Siyuan has shifted to a new studio, or how many of the original developers at Leenzee have moved with him to Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology, currently remains unclear.
Supposedly, the knock-on effect caused by Siyuan’s departure led to most of Leenzee’s core team leaving the studio in the same period of time.
No word on exactly when we can expect the follow-up to Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, but the official press release on Digital Bros’ website states that an “initial investment” for the game amounts to 21.5 million euros (roughly $25 million), so it’s probably fair to assume that the full release is still some way off.
