Like what I’ve observed about many other art forms, it’s a skillset driven by improvisation and intuition, something you can’t really quantify or standardize. It can’t help out with tasks involving abstract reasoning, like higher-level differentials in mathematics and, as it turns out, cooking. Although I am only 20, I have been cooking, reading recipes and watching Food Network shows long enough to have amassed a certain understanding about cooking “rules.” This is where cooking and AI begin to diverge: AI is built to optimize the experience for you, but cooking, and the years it takes to better understand flavors, techniques and who you are baking for, is anything but efficient. If the process of cooking and improving kitchen skills is inefficient by nature, are those not the things AI should be used to save time for?
