Schedules have been released for the fall sports of football, volleyball, boys’ and girls’ soccer, and boys’ and girls’ cross country. A big test will come on Tuesday, Sept. 1, against the defending Class 5A state champion Las Cruces High School. The Lady ’Cats will also face Las Cruces Organ Mountain, Bayard Cobre, Las Cruces Centennial, Las Cruces Mayfield, El Paso Immanuel and a stint at the Portales tournament. District 3-4A play will include home-and-away matches with newcomer Anthony Gadsden High, and Santa Teresa, Centennial and Silver High of Silver City. That district includes state champion Artesia, state runner-up Roswell, Chaparral, Goddard, Mayfield, Anthony Gadsden and Alamogordo.
