The All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated its National Campaign Council for the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election, describing the poll as a critical test of the party’s readiness for the 2027 general elections. Speaking at the inauguration in Abuja, the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, said the campaign council was carefully constituted with experienced politicians and stakeholders drawn from across the country to ensure victory for the party in Osun. The APC chairman said the party would embark on intensive grassroots mobilisation, including door-to-door campaigns involving governors, lawmakers, local government chairmen, councillors, and party members across the country. He also tasked the party’s women’s wing with mobilising female voters across the state, expressing confidence that the campaign council would deliver victory for the APC. Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated council, the Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Campaign Council, Senator Hope Uzodimma, pledged that members would carry out an issue-based, peaceful, and people-focused campaign.
