The Oyo State Government has launched a pioneering initiative to improve access to education for children with visual impairments by distributing free Braille textbooks to pupils in special basic schools, marking a significant step towards inclusive education. According to Adekambi, the state first distributed Braille textbooks to secondary school students in 2024. Building on that success, the government expanded the programme to include primary-level learners after developing Braille textbooks specifically for basic education in 2025.
