Anthony Slater, 44, of Leach Street, Blackburn, drove a grey Hyundai i20 on Leach Street on June 12 with 110 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - more than three times the legal limit. He appeared at Blackburn Magistrates’ Court on July 23 and pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle with alcohol above the prescribed limit. The court imposed an obligatory disqualification from driving for 26 months. Slater can reduce this by 26 weeks if an approved drink-driving rehabilitation course is completed by January 24, 2028. In addition, Slater was fined £200, ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge, and £85 prosecution costs.
