Police said on Tuesday (July 28) that an investigation had been launched after reports that the two girls, both in their late teens, were assaulted near Deansgate at around 2.30am on Saturday, July 25. In a further update yesterday, police said a 30-year-old man from Blackpool was arrested at around 8.15pm on suspicion of rape, and he is in custody.
