Image: blueringmedia/stock.adobe.comFrom 1 August, heavy vehicle operators will be able to carry more freight with fewer regulatory hurdles, as new mass and dimension limits come into effect under the updated Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL).
The reforms will also increase General Mass Limits (GML) to reflect the weight previously allowed under Concessional Mass Limits (CML).
“The changes support a more modern approach to heavy vehicle regulation,” NTC CEO Michael Hopkins said.
“Operators need to check both their axle group weights and their total gross weight before entering the road network.
