Image: Google MapsA carpet manufacturer facing workplace safety charges over a forklift incident involving a truck driver has entered into an enforceable undertaking with WorkSafe Victoria instead of continuing through the courts. WorkSafe alleges the driver was struck from behind by a forklift, knocking him to the ground and causing him to briefly lose consciousness. Under the estimated $150,000 enforceable undertaking, Godfrey Hirst must complete a series of measures within 14 months. “This enforceable undertaking will improve safety at the Breakwater site, while educating the industry to help prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.”
