I STILL think this IS a LONG SHOT for a Democratic Talarico Win in Red State Texas……. Texas state Rep. James Talarico, the Democratic Senate nominee in Texas, has widened his lead over his Republican opponent, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, in a new poll. The results of the Texas Public Opinion Research (TPOR) survey, which were shared by The Texas Tribune on Tuesday, found Talarico had a 5 percentage-point advantage among likely voters over Paxton ahead of the November election. The TPOR survey found that Talarico leads Paxton among voters without a college degree — a demographic that typically favors Republican candidates. Additionally, a New York Times/Siena poll from June found the two candidates tied at 47 percent among likely Texas voters, nearly along party lines.
