THE Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has approved $USD80 million in sovereign-backed financing for Fiji, joining the World Bank in a package worth $USD230 million.
This fast-disbursing finance package is designed to support the Pacific island nation’s economic resilience and climate preparedness.
“We remain committed to helping our members strengthen resilience, advance sustainable development and respond effectively to evolving global challenges,” Lim said.
He said the package would support Fiji’s effort to build “a stronger, more inclusive and sustainable future” with development partners.
The programme aligns with Fiji’s National Development Plan 2025-2029 and Vision 2050 and extends AIIB’s climate-focused policy-based financing support to the country.
