As of July 22, 2026, the Union Government had released Central Financial Assistance (CFA) of Rs 298.93 crore for rooftop solar installations in Jammu and Kashmir.
Ladakh, meanwhile, recorded 2,008 rooftop solar installations covering 2,008 households, with Rs 14.94 crore released as subsidy against 2,561 applications, the Ministry said.
Jammu and Kashmir’s 38,665 installations account for nearly 1 per cent of the 39.72 lakh rooftop solar systems installed across India under the scheme.
Nationally, the scheme had received 75,25,418 applications and resulted in the installation of 39,72,447 rooftop solar systems with a cumulative capacity of 14,180.89 MW, benefiting 48,02,717 households.
The Union Government said the scheme has a demand-driven framework under which residential consumers with grid-connected electricity connections can apply through the National Portal for rooftop solar systems.
