Thuso Mbedu (The Woman King, Castlevania: Nocturne) stars as the lead, Zelie. The film is set in pre-colonial Africa, where the fictional kingdom of Orïsha hides magic in its roots. The film is directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood (The Woman King, The Old Guard), and she also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Adeyemi. Children of Blood and Bone hits theaters on January 15.
