Sam Chetter, of East Hill Road, Ryde, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Friday, July 24. The 31-year-old admitted drug driving, in Ryde, on April 2. Ms Edwards told the bench Chetter was moving away from his Audi when officers approached, and in police interview, he accepted smoking a joint of cannabis – a substance he consumed “most days”. Nick Muir, defending, said he smoked cannabis at around 9pm the previous night and was driving home from work at the time of his arrest. Chetter, a delivery driver made redundant, was fined £120 and disqualified from driving for 16 months.
